This is Cordelleville... endless-
appearing land, but in reality, it
drifts along the Mississippi River,
existing thinly between two levees.
On it, what were houses and are
now only slabs, and a couple FEMA
trailers.
Its residents, Chuck, Toni, and Mike
- and their hospitality, jokes, and
cooking - make this literally
paradise on earth. There is no other
place in the world like it. And it
could only exist in Louisiana. Truly,
home is connected to the land and
mind - while the material - FEMA
trailers, lost possessions, and long-
gone houses, have become
immaterial in a world like this.
That's one of a million simple, yet
infinitely important reasons why
this world mustn't disappear,
alongside some very big economic
reasons as well.
